The Sarasota (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is pleased to announce its request for applications to compete for the awarding of scholarships towards continuing your pursuit of a college degree.
(General male scholarship) applicants must meet the following criteria:
- An African American Male student from Manatee or Sarasota County.
- 2024/2025 graduating high school senior.
- Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0.
- Present two letters of recommendation from a school representative.
- Present an official sealed transcript.
- Present a letter of acceptance from a university/college (not required with initial application if not received).
(General nursing applicants) must meet the following criteria:
- A female student from Manatee or Sarasota County.
- A 2024/2025 incoming or current nursing or technical or college school student.
- Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0.
- Be in good academic standing at your respective technical school or college.
- Present two letters of recommendation from a school representative.
- Present an official sealed transcript.
- Present a letter of acceptance from a university/college.
Scholarship Application Form to be completed by the applicant and parent/guardian. Applications must be emailed with all accompanying documentation to kappa20051@gmail.com by February 16, 2025. Electronic form completion (MS Word) is encouraged. Written applications WILL NOT be accepted!!!
Mandatory interviews will be conducted in February 2025 at the Steve Lewis Center at 1720 26th Ave. East, Bradenton, FL. Nominees will be notified in advance of the exact time of their scheduled interview. Finalists will be notified in writing of their status by Saturday, February 16, 2025, and will be invited to attend the Annual Steve Lewis Achievement Awards Banquet to be held April 2025, Location TBD. Applications must be legible; if the application is not legible it may affect your application decision. You may use additional space for responses if required. Electronic form completion (MS Word) is encouraged.
